Failure to demonstrate the prerequisite knowledge and skills required to complete the skills assessment successfully may result in extra training time beyond the scheduled course duration, which will be billed separately at $100 per hour.
The American Heart Association’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support [PALS] course is for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response. It expands on the skills learned in the AHA’s BLS course.
Healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other advanced cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in hospital and pre-hospital settings.
Students who successfully complete the online portion of the course receive a certificate granting them access to a PALS Hands-on Session with an AHA PALS Instructor. Hands-on Skills testing includes child 1-rescuer CPR, child bag mask device, infant 1- and 2-rescuer CPR, and relief of choking (optional). Students must successfully complete both the online portion and the hands-on session to receive a PALS Provider course completion card.
The American Heart Association requires each student to have access to their own current AHA PALS Provider Textbook prior to, during and after the PALS course. If you do not have access to a textbook, you can purchase one during your registration. If you would like your textbook shipped to you before the course, please select the shipping option at the time of checkout. Your textbook will be shipped within 3 business days to the address supplied during course registration.
Oregon CPR does not offer refunds once your registration is complete. If you are unable to attend your scheduled course, we offer one free course transfer, but you must contact the Training Center at least 48 hours before the start of the course.
